Flat Out is a biannual magazine. Design is at its center. Flat Out delineates an alternate discourse at the intersection of scholarly criticism and popular journalism. Flat Out re-imagines the rules of editorial solicitation. Flat Out is conceived as a set of writing dares made to exceptional writers and thinkers. Flat Outdoes not grasp at themes but designs territories of discourse. Flat Out instigates and projects. Flat Out emanates from America's unruly Midwest.
