In the Open City, after several poetic acts called "phalènes" debuted in 1960s Europe and South America, the idea emerged to cross America from the South to the North. The first crossing was done in 1965, with an expanded group of artists, poets, and philosophers, who published the poem "Amereida" (a portmanteau of “America” and the “Aeneid”), two years later. A paradox surrounds the orientation of Latin American countries: South is our North. Ephemeral architecture around poetry, produced collectively, with local materials, will be conceived as a work-in-progress; a paper pavilion will expose our philosophy in Athens, and a wooden pavilion will receive hospitality in Kassel.
