Season two of the Space Between podcast builds on the belief that conversations, bridging across different spheres, can extend our ability to imagine better futures. Anchored in thinking about space—how it is produced, designed, and occupied—these discussions seek to build knowledge, find commonalities, and inspire actions in the real world. The program fosters intersectional dialogues between architects, artists, geographers, anthropologists, poets, politicians, scientists, and dreamers. Every field has something to offer; what the podcast hopes to do is look at and learn from the “space between.” Candid conversations with guests at the forefront of innovative and liberatory thinking reenchants listeners, while fostering collaborative and inclusive conversations between actors in disparate fields. The second season of the Space Between continues finding delight, synergy, and debate, while rendering critical concerns accessible—and freely available—to a wider and non-disciplinary audience.

Shumi Bose is chief editor at KoozArch. She is an educator, curator, and editor in the field of architecture and architectural history. Bose is a senior lecturer in architectural history at Central Saint Martins and an adjunct professor at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture in London; she also teaches regularly at Technische Universität Wien, the Royal College of Art, and the Architectural Association. She has curated widely, including exhibitions at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 2020, she founded Holdspace, a digital platform for extracurricular discussions in architectural education, and currently serves as trustee for the Architecture Foundation.

Federica Sofia Zambeletti is the founder and managing director of KoozArch. She is an architect, researcher, and storyteller whose interests lie at the intersection between art, architecture, and regenerative practices. In 2022, Zambeletti founded KoozArch with the ambition of creating a space to research, explore, and discuss architecture beyond the limits of its built form. Prior to dedicating her full attention to KoozArch, Zambeletti collaborated with the architecture studio and nonprofit agency for change UNA/UNLESS, working on numerous cultural projects and the research of Antarctic Resolution. Zambeletti is an alum of the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

KoozArch is a research studio and open-access platform for critical thinking around design. Embracing a multigenerational and multidisciplinary discourse, KoozArch believes it is necessary to pursue vital questions. What if we inhabited our planet differently? From research to practice and pixel to brick, KoozArch challenges the historically and measurably extractive nature of architecture, in favor of a more regenerative and accessible form of practice. KoozArch engages in the creation, discussion, and dissemination of these propositional and planetary futures through our digital magazine, as well as through exhibitions, events, publications, and partnerships.
