Cal Poly Pomona’s architecture student magazine, Stable, founded in 2025, provides a print and digital platform for undergraduate students in Southern California to engage, support, and empower each other, as well as to converse with practitioners across the profession. This first issue, Bad Ideas, is based on the premise that learning does not occur without error or testing out ideas against others. In both print and digital formats, the magazine’s inaugural issue includes works and lessons by students, faculty, and practitioners at-large with retrospective examples of badly conceived projects or ideas from practice and academia—as well as how to learn from or prevent mistakes or errors in the future. Stable is an initiative of the Department of Architecture’s Architecture Student Publication Club.
