Curatorial Presentation and Artist Discussion
FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art
Mar 26, 2018 (6pm)

RSVP Required

Join us for an evening with Graham grantee FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art.  Artistic Director Michelle Grabner will be in conversation with FRONT participating artists John Riepenhoff, Jennifer Reeder, Anne Wilson, Tony Tasset and Nate Young to discuss how artist projects are shaped within the triennial structure in addition to the ever-changing, politically urgent conditions of An American City.

Email to rsvp.

Michelle Grabner is a celebrated American painter and conceptual artist. Her work has been featured in the collections of the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Milwaukee Art Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; DaimlerChrysler, Berlin; Mudam Luxembourg; the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Grabner was one of three curators who organized the 2015 Whitney Biennial. She recently curated the Portland2016 Biennial, a statewide exhibition in Oregon. Grabner is the Crown Family Professor of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. With her husband, Brad Killam, she codirects the project spaces the Suburban in Milwaukee and the Poor Farm in Little Wolf, Wisconsin. Grabner also serves on the board of the Milwaukee Art Museum.

FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art is a region-wide contemporary art event. Encompassing museum exhibitions and unique sites spread across the city, FRONT will provide a stage for local, national, and international artists to create and share new work that is inspired by and engaged with the most important social, political, and cultural issues of our time. The inaugural edition of FRONT, An American City, will take place throughout the summer of 2018 and feature new work by over 60 artists in six major exhibitions and 15-to-20 site-specific installations around the city and Northeast Ohio.
